Renovation for this historic home located in Providence's College Hill neighborhood occurred in two phases.
Phase One involved creating a more open floor plan on the first floor. The central chimney was removed on three floors and most interior partitions on the first floor. In order to accomplish this, the structural engineer advised the installation of large steel beams and posts to support the new configuration.
The result of the first phase was extensive, giving the homeowners unobstructed city views throughout the first floor, a new lavette and a new modern custom kitchen designed and built by Parker Construction.
Phase two started in June 2009 and will involve the creation of a new master bedroom, master closet and master bathroom on the second floor. A new guest bathroom on the second floor at the same time will also be constructed.
